Topic: USB As Power Source

Can the USB port safely power the C1/Infocast 3.5 units from a 2a/5v power supply?

Owner of three C1's, Infocast 3.5, Sony Dash C10, and Infocast 8. A tinkerer at heart and IT director by trade.

can what usb port power a chumby?   any 2+ amp usb port should be able to.

Cleaning up any loose bits and bytes.

Standard USB ports on computers will only supply 500ma or .5 amps. This will not keep a Chumby happy and is bad for the computer!

Note that you cannot power the chumby through *its* USB port, only through the power jack (or battery if appropriate).
