Topic: What does the 1604 update give me?

Could anyone please give a proper description of the 1.7.1604 "simple clock" update?

I honestly never found a compelling Chumby app; the Dash's native weather was nicer than any of the alternatives.

Aside from that, I really liked:

1) the elegant, and large, clock
2) DIMMABLE night mode so I can sleep with the clock on
3) Multiple alarms

(Bizzarely I have yet to find an Android app that does the job)

Presently my Dash is bricked in the update attempt.

I'd really like to know if I can have a decent clock I'll try to unbrick. If just the clock functions are preserved under enfo of life, I'm actually going to be pretty happy.

Any description of the clock functionality under the end-of-life update would be appreciated!

The chumby fix will give you all off these at no cost (other than MAYBE running out to purchase a USB drive if you dont have one.  And if you spend more than $5 on it you spent too much.

The "SONY" clock update turns it in to a basic clock.  No night mode.  No Multiple alarms.  No weather.  But you have your "large ($300) clock".

If you have basic computer skills you should be able to follow the instructions posted here to restore the Sony themes which were working before the abandonment.  I am using "appshow" with good success.
