After an incredibly frustrating few months trying to work out why my Chumby Classic was a) randomly stopping music playback and b) always stopping music playback at 4 minutes past the hour every hour (yes you read right - go figure), I have finally found a workaround / solution!

My router is an ASUS RTN66U and the issue seems to be related to my WiFi access point 2.4GHz wireless settings.

The following settings let me connect, but drop the audio at various intervals:

Wireless mode: Auto
Optimsed for XBox: off
B/g protection: off
Channel bandwidth: 40Mhz or 20/40Mhz

The following settings definitely give me hours and hours of streamed music goodness:

Slower speed:

Wireless mode: legacy
Optimsed for XBox: off
B/g protection: off
Channel bandwidth: 20Mhz

Faster speed:

Wireless mode: Auto
Optimsed for XBox: on
B/g protection: on
Channel bandwidth: 40Mhz
