Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

Seems like you will have to wait until it comes back (if it can). You can go to youstreams/appspot.com and download all the regular radio stations in a form that can be used by My Streams. I don't think the audio podcasts can be used at present. The front page (after logging in) of that site gives you the option to download a file with the url's of all your saved stations. Carefully enter the info into the My Streams part the music section of your chum and it should work.

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

it is not possible for me.

just try for example:
http://www.dradio.de/rss/podcast/sendungen/sternzeit/
or
http://www.dradio.de/rss/podcast/sendungen/forschak/
or
http://www.cczwei.de/rss_issues.php
or
http://scienceblogs.de/wissenschaft-zum-mitnehmen/feed
or
http://www.br-online.de/podcast/compute … n/cast.xml
or
http://www.hoaxilla.com/feed/
or
http://web.ard.de/radiotatort/rss/podcast.xml

or some other....

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

Sorry. Podcast (rss feeds) will not be supported at this time using YouStreams or anything else to my knowledge. You're only option is the Radio side of YouStreams translated to My Streams. I would keep all info for future upgrades that *may* come later.
For instance BBC World news: http://vprbbc.streamguys.net/vprbbc24.mp3

YouStreams and all other apps are temporarily discontinued except the one clock. Music side seems to work for most.

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

I do Not need youstreams if podcast (better audiocast Tor Not Apple Users) be possible in The music section.

When will it be?

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

When I get a chance to get to it.

Right now, I'm just in the mode of preserving data and keeping the devices up.

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

If it helps the 'My Streams' file format is:

<streams>
<stream id="0001" url="http://radio1.internode.on.net:8000/165" mimetype="audio/mpeg" name="702 Sydney" />
<stream id="0001" url="http://radio1.internode.on.net:8000/156" mimetype="audio/mpeg" name="Radio National" />
<stream id="0001" url="http://radio1.internode.on.net:8000/237" mimetype="audio/mpeg" name="BBC World Service" />
<stream id="0001" url="http://radio1.internode.on.net:8000/2" mimetype="audio/mpeg" name="Radio Paradise" />
</streams>

i.e. URL of radio stream, mimetype (always the same), name you want to appear in 'MyStreams'. The file on the chumby is called /psp/url_streams.

On a USB stick create a file called debugchumby with the following contents:

#!/bin/sh
cp /mnt/usb/url_streams /psp/url_streams

So make a url_streams file to your liking (don't use mine it won't work for non Internode people), pop it on the same USB stick. Pop the USB stick into your chumby & reboot. The debugchumby script will copy your version of url_streams from the USB stick to the chumby & when you access My Streams, your list will appear.

Batteries not included - works for me... yada yada yada... wink

I also have changed the music_order so that my streams & local podcasts appear at the top - if anyone wants instructions for changing that let me know & I'll post.

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

Hi spunk_, I know this won't solve your podcast problem, but, this thread (http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=8411) may help you figure out how to build the streaming URL file you need to make a My Streams file and then manipulate it.

Unfortunately, because podcasts are an on-demand delivery product, at this point, there is no good solution for the Chumby in its present form. Not even a bad solution.

Re: listen to podcast (or audiocast)

The Chumote by tomwsmf has Bashpodder on it. I haven't tried it, because I got my podcasts working another way.

no problem -  just keep it in mind to do so.

no matter which way -  audiocast in the music-section or a widget like youstreams.
