Topic: Stuck with nonworking cosmic panel

I was looking at cosmic panel and found this (http://gforge.chumby.com/frs/?group_id=9) swf. i assumed it was the same cosmic panel here (http://www.vintiun.net/martimorta/?cat=6) so i decided to load it on to my chumby, but to do this you must have a usb drive and mine has been kinda lost for 5 or 6 months so i was looking for a way to try it out without a flash drive. i modified the fstab file to coment out the tmpfs mount on /mnt so that /mnt would be on the / file system. then i mounted the / file system as read write and added a symbolic link from /mnt/usb to a directory i created in /mnt/storage/usb. so now effectively my "usb drive" is just a directory on the storage partition. then i used wget to load the file into /mnt/storage/usb/controlpanel.swf. i mounted / as read only and reboted. it worked, only this was not the same version as http://www.vintiun.net/martimorta/?cat=6 but an early build with only a clock and wifi meter. i antisipated useing cosmic panel's linux terminal faeture to restart the ssh daemon to remove cosmic panel, but this build does not have the working linux terminal, so now i'm kinda stuck. i tried reseting to factory defaults from the special options menue, but afer i finished watching the intro it booted back into cosmic panel. i asume this is because chumby assumes you only modify read write filesystems, and does not restore the others. any sugjestions for getting my chumby back to normal?

<UPDATE>
nevermind i found out you can exicute some things from the linux terminal is cosmic panel, namely touch /psp/start_sshd
sorry for inconvenice p.s. anyone know where the cosmic panel 0.2 swf is?
