Topic: Computer power on with alarm

I am admittedly ignorant when it comes to apps, but does anyone know of a way or how to make an app that can turn on my computer when the alarm goes off? I know its a wifi based system and theres an app to control my iTunes from my chumby, so theres got to be some kind of way to do this. Any suggestions or any developers willing to take the challenge?

The terminology you want is "wake on lan" - this is a packet that's sent over the network to wake a computer up.  The computer needs to be configured for this, of course.

There's a typical linux program to do this at ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/metalab/system … 1.1.tar.gz

Dunno how you'd make that into an app, though.
