Topic: Automatic Night mode
I am new to Chumby and I am looking for a way to automatically switch to "Night" mode at a specific time then back to 'Day' mode the rest of the time.

You can use a "custom alarm" to do that.
What you do is make an alarm that doesn't make sound (choose "None" for the audio), then select "Night Mode on". You can set a similar alarm with "Night Mode off".
Great suggestion. Thanks I will gave that a try.
It works like a champ!
I also have a silent alarm set to take the Chumby out of NiteMode and launch a channel at 7AM too.
I use the remote night mode thing so i dont have the chumby full-on bright while im asleep... and it wakes up a little before my alarm time to show full brightness and weather widget /time eventually shows..
wow - that a great idea.
it works fine.
How can I accomplish this with the Dash? I can't seem to do it the way that's described above (no option in alarm for no sound or night mode).
This capability is not currently supported on the dash - since this is Sony's product, you should post feature requests on their forum (linked from another section on this forum).
