Would this battery pack work ok with the chumby?

I got 2 extra packs from Jaycar - I just looked for 12v and 1amp output - I think it was actually 1.5amp the ones I got. It was about $25 from memory - I can get the part number when I get home if you can't find it. They work flawlessly. It really is a PITA moving around plugpacks.

Yeah I have setup 3 plugpacks atm - study, bedroom and kitchen. One day our rechargeable solution will come... :-)

Unfortunately servalan's battery pack is a little too large to fit inside the chumby.

Ah - I saw the variable output voltages and didn't realise he was talking about batteries. LOL.
