Topic: Tentacles on Chumby.

The Chumby appears to be cute, compact, and do lots of little things in one place...but it doesn't really look like their cute little cartoon octopus logo (well...hexapus?  It has six tentacles...).

But it could, if there was an "octopus" version with little tentacles around the base, which would probably help it balance better and perch on stuff better.  It would look like a little octopus, and be way too cute to resist giving as a birthday/Christmas/whatever gift.  You could probably add widgets later that would make it look/act like a cute electronic pet when not in use, just one that's way more useful than an Aibo or a tamagochi or something.

Any plans for it to be something other than a lump with a touch screen?  Am I the only one who thinks it would be cuter if it looked more like the logo?

Alternatively, someone could make a tentacle-shaped battery pack to make all of them a chumby-to-go.  The Buffalo Wild Wings I hang out at is a free wi-fi hotspot, I'd take an octopus-chumby with me just to settle bar discussions and look up random stuff...

Re: Tentacles on Chumby.

hmm... great ideas here. I'm actually planning my first alteration on my Chumby this weekend. Look out  Angela.

I want to make one into a tribble, but I suck at crafts, have to have someone do it for me.. "Mom!!!"

Re: Tentacles on Chumby.

Maybe somebody over at www.etsy.com could make a Chumby holder for you?

Re: Tentacles on Chumby.

Hmmmm...someone could probably actually make money on etsy.com selling that as an attachment.  But they'd have to put batteries in it so you could power it on the go.  Maybe include one of these: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/joby-go … era-tripod in three of the tentacles...anyone know how big that thing is relative to a chumby?

On a very odd coincidence note, yesterday was the first time I came across that site when my girlfriend sent me this:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9867454
