Topic: My first Chumby One

Well after having amassed a small collection of Infocasts (three 8's and two 3.5's), I finally snagged a Chumby One on eBay... only problem is, it's missing its power supply.  I saw in another thread that someone found a replacement on Amazon, but until I order that, can anyone tell me whether the Infocast 3.5's power supply can be interchanged (so I can test the C1)?

Looking forward to having an actual Chumby-branded device big_smile

Re: My first Chumby One

Insignia used a different manufacturer, but the power/voltage and physical connector are the same.

Re: My first Chumby One

Cool, that's my concern -- physical connection, and volts+amps.  I just noticed that the BB3.5 adapter is only 2A, whereas the BB8 is 2.5A... so probably a good thing that the connectors are incompatible between the two smile

Re: My first Chumby One

You can usually use a higher amperage power supply as long as the voltage is the same.  The current rating is the maximum the supply can provide, not a minimum.

Re: My first Chumby One

Yes, I'm aware of this... but using a Chumby One power supply on a Chumby 8 might be unhappy -- hence my comment wink
