Topic: Network Connection via Android USB Teathering?

I just picked up a Chumby One to go with my other two, and was playing with the idea of using it at work. We have wifi, but it's locked down to only company owned devices, so using my phone for data would be the only option.

I looked at the Bunny's blog on using the C1 with a 3G modem, and tried the same with my OG Droid via USB. (post: http://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=1076)

Going through that process, I was able to get the phone to go into tether mode , but the chumby was not able to connect.

I then tried to go through the process again, and noticed a choice of interfaces: Wireless and Wired(Ethernet). Wired would be my phone presenting it's self to the Chumby as another interface. I though that was a good sign and went on through the process. Leaving everything on auto it ends up on a page like this:

eth0 device not found
eth0 interface down
eth0 link is down
failed to obtain IP address

Any ideas? If is SSh'ed in and did the standard linux setup for Android tethering, would it work?
