Topic: Question on script hosting for new widgets

Hi,
just about finished my first widget, which uses a CGI Perl script on the Chumby itself to get information. I know how to submit the widget but wheres the best place to host the script and associated install instructions ? My guess is a forum topic with a URL in the widget description. Is this approporiate ? Are there any issues (forum archiving etc) ?

thanks in advance.

Please advise.

cheers

Nigel

Re: Question on script hosting for new widgets

You could host your stuff on http://gforge.chumby.com/

Re: Question on script hosting for new widgets

I can't register as user:

Secure Connection Failed

gforge.chumby.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.
The certificate expired on 4/2/2009 10:02 PM.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate)

Re: Question on script hosting for new widgets

Oops - OK, we'll look into that.

Re: Question on script hosting for new widgets

fixed

please note that since this is still a ``proof of concept'' site, we're using a self-signed SSL certificate so you'll have to manually
add the exception for it.
