I did not read in the change-log that there would be any impact on the 9 volt battery clip or it's use. (in the new firmware).

Were there  any changes made to how it operates? The voltage sent to it? Or how the chumby responds when there is power loss and a battery is connected?
Are there any plans to make official use of the 9 volt battery clip.
I know we have gone over this before but that was before the firmware.
I had a lithium rechargeable battery connected to mine for a very long time. I recently removed the battery in order to check the voltage and it was completely empty. (not a good state for a lithium cell) It clearly did not receive a charge from the chumby (too bad).
If a cell is going to be attached to the clip which is the best battery to use?
