Topic: Chumby on Dell Axim X30?

Apologies if this is asked over and over, I searched here and google and found nothing.

I have an old Axim x30 PDA which has specs better than the chumby (which I am awaiting to arrive...I ordered last week!)

Is it possible to get the OS/widgets to run on another device?

Any info appreciated.

I would think the best bet to getting the chumby software running on another device would be one of the old Zaurus PDA's by Sharp.

I set this up.  It's actually complicated and doesn't work well.  this is how I did it;
Looked through the sourcecode and figured out how they calculate the chumby ID.
Made my own chumby, added widgets to it and channels.
Looked thru the various XML files that are on their server to see how the chumby requests swfs and which variables are used
Wrote a web page for each widget I wanted.  In the embed tag I added the variables that are passed to the SWF's.
Installed flash player on my pocketpc and it was working fine.

Only problem!  Flash player for Pocket PC is kind of a piece of crap, and crashes after 8 hours or so.  I ended up just u

Why couldn't you load a Linux flavor or even the Chumby OS in particular onto the Axim to avoid the Windows Mobilee/Flash player conflict all together?
