Topic: List of probs, starting with the alarm, ending with ssh.

I have a 254Kb 27Sec long music file that I want to be my alarm, I have named it as "alarm1.mp3" and "alarm.mp3" and "alarm2.mp3" separately, but none work. I would test if there is a prob with my file using btplay, but I can't ssh into my chumby. I enabled ssh, and I get the big chumby in my terminal but even logging into it as root I'm still asked for a password..

Help?

Re: List of probs, starting with the alarm, ending with ssh.

Well after trying a few different mp3's I found one that works right, it'll do. But I still wonder why the others didn't work.
Also my ssh is still borked.

Re: List of probs, starting with the alarm, ending with ssh.

What command or tool are you using to ssh into the chumby?

tom@192.168.2.3's password:

the 'tom' in the above is the clue, you need to use the correct 'ssh' syntax.

that being:

ssh -l root 192.168.2.3

or

ssh root@192.168.2.3

/mdkail

Re: List of probs, starting with the alarm, ending with ssh.

I knew it!
I only came heere with that because I though it was a prob with my chumby, I had hit the irc and asked around freenode and was told it wasn't a prob with my command/client.
Thanks!

And about those alarms, the songs play with btplay, so I'm assuming the alarm uses a different program to play them?

In the release Control Panel (as of 1/3/08), Flash itself plays the "easter egg" alarm, and it's very picky about file format.  I've seen several people use files that they *think* are MP3 (MPEG-1 Layer3) but are actually MPEG-2 Layer 3, which Flash doesn't support.

In the beta Control Panel, the "easter egg" alarms are played with btplay, which is a bit more flexible about format.
