Topic: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

hi

Using iHeartradio, I cannot seem to find 'The Blaze' or 'Blaze Philly' on the CC.  I can find it on my laptop.

Where does one find this station listed?  Or better yet, is there a search function?

As far as I can tell, ALOT of stations are missing in the Chumby app.

I can't find Blaze, KGO (SF), and quite a few more

All these are on the iheartradio website and on the iheartradio app on my iphone.

Re: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

Seems the chumby has what is has because that is all iHeart will give to the app. I don't think this has ever been a full blown iHeart app like what is available on pc or laptop.

I am not sure of that

I am wondering if it is due to an old feed map that needs to be updated

Any Chumby-ite know the real status?

Re: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

I reloaded the station list a few months ago, I can probably do it again.

Duane, if you could, that would be great?

Do you know why these stations show on my phone but not the Chumby

Aren't they both iHeart?  Is there a difference?

Re: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

As long as I have had my chumby, iHeart has always had a limited selection of stations in a relatively small cross section of markets. For instance, there is only ONE classical station (Classica) even though it is found under different cities. You cannot sign in to iHeart and view what you have set up on your laptop. Maybe I am missing something.

Well, we use a feed link provided to Chumby by iHeart.

I don't know what their policy is regarding the delivery of feeds to different devices.

When the data is imported, the script validates various fields before adding them to the database - I know it will drop stations that have incomplete or corrupted data.  I can take a closer look to see exactly what is wrong with those records to see if there's a way to look at the intent and repair them.

Re: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

It would be good to look, when your list whittles down.

Looking through the Chumby list, it is missing quite a few of the feeds, city and non-city.

I am thinking these missing stations are a symptom of a bigger feed problem in the Chumby.

If the file they send DOES consist of these stations, then something is wrong in the iHeart app on the Chumby.

BTW, I did get the Blaze station to work with a posters help on 'My Streams' at:

The Blaze Philly: http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/pls/BLZE_2.pls

Re: iHeartradio and non-city 'broadcasts'

I just pulled a brand new raw station feed from iheartradio's site and there's no station with the word "Blaze" in the name or the call letters "BLZE".

KGO is not on the list either.

What I think is going on is that our feed only includes stations owned by Clear Channel themselves.  The Blaze and KGO are actually owned by other companies (TheBlaze, Inc, and Cumulus Media, respectively), and must have some sort of relationship with iheartradio for streaming that does not apply to our station feed.

Clear Channel...  (spits on the ground)
