Topic: Help - how to fix humanclock widget crashing

It's been doing this for about 3yrs, and finally I decided to do something about it......

Every 1-2 hours the humanclock widget just freezes, requiring a reload of the channel (its my only channel and only widget). I haven't seen any threads on this so I figure my symptoms are unique.

So I was thinking would it be possible to setup a cron job to kill / reload or kill -HUP the process that plays the widget? Any ideas on what commands to run?

I'm running the original leather bound chumby, hw 3.8, sw 1.7.2, firmware 1830, control panel 2.8.85.

Cheers,
Glenn.

Re: Help - how to fix humanclock widget crashing

The part of the Flash Player that plays movies, both the Control Panel and the widget, are in the same process.

However, assuming the process is alive, and the Control Panel is alive, then you might be able to use Control Panel events to force the widget to advance - however, with only one widget, it might try to be smart and ignore the command.  You might also consider putting two copies of that widget in the channel, each with a long play time.
