Topic: problems with Pandora music

Pandora music services seems to not work regularly. Hope you can fix this for good. I really enjoy the music on their site.

Re: problems with Pandora music

I noticed this as well. Other threads: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=8104 indicate that Pandora has been having problems since at least the 1st of May. Other comments seem to allude to points that this may be a Pandora problem. That is worse in my opinion since there is nothing I know of to go about getting it resolved. Just hope for the best?

Re: problems with Pandora music

Pandora has been restored.

Great to have it back. Hope this will last.

Re: problems with Pandora music

Duane,

Is it possible to run other open source Linux Pandora clients in the Chumby instead of relying on the current Chumby-Pandora setup?

2. http://6xq.net/projects/pianobar/

The second one  uses a command line interface (CLI)

Thanks in advance,

Re: problems with Pandora music

I'm sure it's possible, but both packages would probably need some hacking to work.  I'd start with the second one.

Re: problems with Pandora music

Matt ported the second one (pianobar) to run on the Chumby; see http://sourceforge.net/projects/zurk/fo … ic/5257532
What is the best way to integrate it to the Chumby GUI?

Re: problems with Pandora music

Well, the approach I'd take is to make a standard "external music source" in Flash that calls out to this tool (documentation and example on wiki) and have the built-in web server serve it as though it came from our servers, like much of the rest of the way the offline firmware works.

Re: problems with Pandora music

Thanks Duane.  I found this link in the wiki: http://files.chumby.com/widgetexamples/ … lMusic.zip
Is this the right stuff to follow?

Yes.
