Topic: "Add to Chumby" web button

It would be really nice if Chumby.com supported an "Add to Chumby" button like Google homepage does.
i.e. http://www.sakimobile.com/add_to_google.gif

With this, 3rd party widget developers could easily add to Chumby buttons on their own sites, promote their widgets, and drive traffic back to chumby.com. It would create a streamlined process for the Chumby user to find and add the specific widget to their mixes...

Here's how it would work...

For the developer...
1) 3rd party developer builds and posts a widget to the Chumby directory as they do currently
2) Chumby.com generates HTML button code for the specific widget at the end of the upload process (this has an ID in the querystring to uniquely identifies the widget to be added when clicked which will be used later)
3) 3rd party adds the button code to their site

For the visitor...
1) Visitors goes the the third party dev's site, and clicks on the "Add to Chumby" button
2) The button transfers chumby.com login page. User logs in and is presented with something like this...
http://www.google.com/ig/add?moduleurl= … module.xml
the only difference would be you could present a pick list for the user to select to which mix it should be added. Chumby.com would know the widget to be added by checking the querystring that was passed from the button.
3) Chumby is happy, very happy.

Re: "Add to Chumby" web button

Let's take it one step further. We need a tool that can widgetise anything and add it to our chumby. Have a look at Webwag's Widget on Demand technology.

The widget world is moving so fast it is tough to keep up.

Go Chumbians go!           ::shakes her pompoms::

Something like Apple's dashcode would be nice....

Is something like this being created for chumby?
