Topic: Will landing face down on the carpet overheat Chumby?

Hi - Our Chumby falls off the nightstand onto the carpet on a regular basis.  Thanks to the weight distribution, it most always falls face down.  Somewhere I recall reading that Chumby dissipates most of its excess heat through the screen.  Is there any risk of overheating if it's face down on a carpet?

Thanks,
jp

This is true. You want to avoid the chumby ever being face down on the screen.

Smear some butter and jelly on the speakers so it lands screen up. tongue

Hoyeboye: THAT is the best answer I've ever seen on this forum for ANY topic! Good one!

I was glad to read this posting, as mine regularly falls off thanks to the dog wandering around patrolling the bedroom and catching the cord. Knowing this will help me to find another solution...such as taping the cord out of the nighttime "rover roaming path" between the bed and the nightstand, OR, before Hoyeboye beats me to it...taping the dog to the foot of the bed. That could work equally well.
