Is it possible to have a private configuration widget for a publicly available widget, perhaps in addition to an already existing public widget?

Here a scenario:  Suppose I have to change ISPs (I find a cheaper one), so the hostname for a streamed asset (sound, pic) has to change.  It would be great to have the developer have a widget that allows him to specify the hostname.  The alternative would be to recompile and republish the widget every time.
