Topic: How do you test the configuration widgets?

How do developers test configuration widgets?  Do you test them independently as best you can, then upload them and test them 'privately'?  Or is there a better way?

I have a coouple of widgets in teh pipline that I will need to add a conpanion configuration widget to them.
