@philu - which device are you trying to run the app on?  I have another customer reporting this issue, but I am not able to reproduce it on a chumby One or chumby 8.  App working correctly on both devices.

Does the same thing on my Chumby classic

We found an issue with the web service that TV.com is using that was negatively affecting our servers.  We had to take it down in order to diagnose the issue.  It should be back once we've figured it out.

Yep - it was not only screwing up our servers, it apparently wasn't properly serving data while doing so.
