Think it be cool if the Chumby could be notified of Growl status messages and display them

This came up before in the forum.

I don't think much has changed since then - I can't find a Growl stack for Linux, although there are *similar*, but incompatible, things out there.

That's a really cool idea!  A daemon would need to be written that ran all the time listening to TCP port 23052 or UDP port 9887, but it could send Flash Events.

The protocol is documented at the growl site.

(I was implying that I was having the user/keyboard error, not D)...
But yes, the protocol seems mostly straightforward...
