It would be good to have some visual cue for the widgets with special customization, even in the  "manage channel" page. It could be a configuration-icon added to the thumbnail.

- its nice to know for the user that one can configure something else than just play time. Typically, once added to a channel, the user wont check back on the widgets page to see whether it is a customizable widget. For some (mail, etc) it might be obvious, but for others it might not.
- it would be good in case something goes wrong (debug info)

In any case, it would be nice to know whether a configuration dialog is available in the list for the widget creator:
