Topic: Setting repeating alarm for each hour

How would I set an alarm which switches to a particular widget each hour (perhaps 1 minute before the hour), stay on that widget for a period of time and then go to another widget (or channel).  Can this be done now? Does it require editing cron?  Will the next CP do this?

Re: Setting repeating alarm for each hour

I think you'd have to do this with a cron job and use the "change channel" easter egg

Put the "particular widget" in one channel and the rest in another.

Re: Setting repeating alarm for each hour

I'm very new to this (just got my Chumby last week) but couldn't you just add an alarm to initiate a channel change right before the turn of the hour (say 1-2 minutes before the hour change) and then set another alarm to go back to another channel after the hour?  If you're trying to go to a specific widget just set-up a new channel with only that widget and have the alarm go there.

Re: Setting repeating alarm for each hour

At the moment, the finest granularity of alarms is daily, not hourly.

Sorry - I wasn't being too clear.  What I meant what that you could (although it would be a mild pain) set an alarm for each hour (48 alarms in total - one before and one after each hour).
