Topic: Hardware Idea for Chumby... Use a Griffin Powermate as a control devic

Heh i do NOT have good driver skills but wouldnt an easy way to control widgets be if you used a control knob that appears as an hid class USB device...

Turn right, move to next widget, turn left, go back one widget... tap the knob, stay the widget, tap it again, unstay the widget... perhaps a double tap to mute/unmute

I was thinking the same thing (also have a Powermate).  I think it would be a matter of recompiling Chumby's OS to include the appropriate drivers (there are Linux drivers available for the Powermate).  Once that is done, I envision one or more scripts that would allow you to do what you described.
