Topic: could it be done?

I was reading an article online about different ways to set down your computer without being on it and i thought that it would be awesome if i could be on my bed and click a button on chumby and have my pc (across the room) turn off. Could this be done and would anyone find this cool also?

It's definitely possible and would be cool for sure, I would look at possibly using Wake on Lan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_on_lan) but I don't really have any experience with it unfortunately.

There are other ways of doing it which would involve running a web server with some sort of shutdown script on your PC and accessing it through the Chumby (using a flash widget).
