Topic: Using text areas

I have been trying to further refine my email program by using a text area instead of a list. My hope is that the user could click to move the cursor and edit the text string. The problem is I can't seem to figure out how to do any of this.  have tried sample stuff on Adobe's livedocs site, but I just don't seem to get it. Any ideas?

Currently I have a text field 'myText' which I add to by saying 'myText.text = myText.text+'new character''

I need to figure out how to move the cursor, and how to delete from the string.

Any good ideas?

Flash Lite does not have the concept of a text cursor or text selection.
