Topic: game???

hi i was wondering if anyone could make a game like line rider (you draw a path and a guy on a sled goes down it) or bowman (you are a man and you shoot arrows). I know that it could prob be possible, but i dont know anything about hacking/code besides the noob basic sad

I found this site a few days ago and it has a full list of games that could be played on the wii and i thought that maybe someone could make it 4 chumby, but i don't know if you need copy write or if its too hard or blah blah blah... . If nobody can then thats cool, but i thought it was worth a shot to ask (here is the site-----> http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/games/wii/ <------)

idk about copyright, but I grabbed the .swf of those files and tossed 'em on a usbstick.
SSHed into Chumby, killed the CP and ran some of those games with the

chumbyflashplayer.x -i /mnt/usb/mygame.swf

command and most of them worked pretty well, albeit a tad sluggish, except for linerider was running at like 2fps so it was totally useless.
Line Game ( http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/games/linegame ) was the best IMHO.

I bet if you scaled them down to the proper screen size they would all be a bit faster, idk though.



Is it copyright infringement to download and use use those games personally on your own comp without putting it back on the net?

thats awsome that you got em to work.... well kinda got them to work

i dont think that its illegal, because no one is making profit or stealing, but idk and maybe someone could scale them down

I would imagine that you wouldn't be violating much if anything if you download them to a USB and run them yourself.

It is when you distribute or host them without permissions that it gets hairy.

Well Line Game's website says just to let them know. And I have attempted contacting them with no reply. I'm just gonna toss it up and see what happens.

yea i dont know who it was, but the line game is now a full widget that you can play and it is great. i think that bowman should be put up and maybe some of the others on the site

Thats awesome i thought that it would be you cause we were talking about it and its really good. can u put some of the others up or are they too slow and useless

Bowman doesn't work right, and all I know how to do is hit the "upload to chumby.com" button.
As for the others, none of them really seem worth it on the chumby as of now. Unless maybe the creator resized and speed them up a bit.

Thanks for trying and dont know if it would work, but cubefield would be an amazing think with the touch screen, but it prob wouldnt work (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en& … gle+Search)
