Topic: Transmit Power

Is there any hack out there for increasing the transmit power of the Chumby?

Re: Transmit Power

While its not a good idea... you can build a liner amplifier for it with a bit of work... http://www.qsl.net/n9zia/wireless/new-prox-amp.html but you would have to use it in international waters or somewhere where the laws allow you to push 1 watt of 2.4GHz tx...

Edit...

You've got me thinking... http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/24ghz_amplifiers.php

Re: Transmit Power

Another way you can legally use the amplifier in the United States is if you are operating the Chumby on an amateur radio 802.11 network.  Of course, you have to be a licensed amateur radio operator.  Contact me offlist if you're interested--I've been a "ham" (that's what we call amateur radio) for 25 years, and am doing active development with the Chumby and amateur radio.
