Topic: Some kind of built in safe restart

Unfortunately I just received a Chumby that just hangs.  It just hangs on the Chumby main white screen.  If I try the "Special Options" trick by holding my finger to the screen and restarting, that's all I get.  It never changes to the options.  The Control Panel button does nothing.  I haven't even seen the control panel at all.

I think the Chumby needs some sort of hard wired restart.  Something like if you hold the power button down for 10 seconds, it will auto reset and boot like new.  Sort of like what the iPod does.  The Chumby really needs something that always works for reseting it to factory new.  Waiting for screen that never comes isn't really working.

I hope the other Chumby I got for my brother works when he opens it.  This sucks.

Hoping to hear from support tomorrow about what to do.

Re: Some kind of built in safe restart

The options for the Special Options showed up finally.  Reset it.  Now it seems to work.  Ahhhhhh...
