Does the display on these things run continuously?  Or can you set it to light up only when the alarm goes off?

You can put it in 'night mode' from the front panel.

You can also, if you get more involved, program alarm events to change the channel it's displaying, or go into night mode automatically, etc.

They're *VERY* customizable.

Cleaning up any loose bits and bytes.
