Topic: How Can I Tell If My Sony Dash Was Chumbyized?

I seem to recall playing with my Sony Dash some time back.

Now can I tell if it was successfully Chumbyized?

If it has been Chumbyized, do I need to check to see if I have the most current software or firmware?

It shows

SW:  1.7.0 and

FW:  1.7.1526

So, I assume I am current then?

If it was Chumbyized it should boot up looking more like a Chumby and less than a non-functioning Sony Dash. At some point in the boot up process after the original Sony dots finish, after you log in to your internet (if you haven't done this yet) the bubbly Chumtopuss will show itself. If you don't see Chumtopuss, you are not Chumbyized.

If it works at all at this point you can assume it is current. smile

If you get error messages when it tries to boot then you'll need to free it from its Sony prison.
