Topic: Graphite graphs

Hi - my first post here.

At my work we use a graphing tool called Graphite http://graphite.wikidot.com/ to monitor what our servers are doing.

My Chumby has been languishing in a cupboard for a while but I decided it would be cool to use it for a tiny monitoring display. (Ok, it's a bit of a joke because some teams here have big TV displays up on the wall showing their monitoring graphs).

I thought some of you might find it interesting as an example of how to use the button and wheel as input. I have it set up so that pressing the button cycles between a choice of a few different graphs, and turning the wheel chooses what time period the graph shows.

Code is up on Github:

cheers

Re: Graphite graphs

Very cool!

Re: Graphite graphs

Awesome.   Can you snap a picture or two of it in action?  I'm really curious about what you have it displaying, but not quite curious enough to set this up myself. tongue

Yes, I'll do that -  a picture is worth a thousand words or whatever! I'm out of the office for a few days so it'll be next week.

Here's a picture of it running

Re: Graphite graphs

That's pretty cool!  I've thought of doing similar things but never end up with something graph-worthy or anything.  Thanks for sharing!
