The chumby One beta firmware can be downloaded here.

To install the beta firmware, follow the USB update instructions, but substitute the link in step #1 with the firmware link above.

Please leave feedback regarding the beta firmware or beta control panel in this topic.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

I'm trying to get it to stream a WMA stream via http://www.rthk.org.hk/live2.asx but it doesn't seem to work. When I press play it just stops after a few seconds. Is the problem that it's not figuring out that the .asx file is a wma stream or just that the stream isn't a true wma file?

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

I have update my chumby one to flash lite 4 ,but the speed is not very good , launch a application is very slow.

i have update also, everything is nice, but take more than one seconds to launcher application compare flash lite3 release

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Using the MyStreams music option to play local police call streams (MP3 url), it's tough to describe what happens.  It's like all the pixels on the screen fall to the bottom of the screen like grains of sand and then the sound stops and the Chumby One has to be rebooted.  Happened to me once in three days.  Looks like when your video card craps out on a regular PC.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Pandora is not working for me. It sits at the please wait pandora is loading screen. Other streams I've tried seem to be ok. Anybody else see this issue?

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Marcev, please check that your problem is because of the beta (which it isn't) before reporting it on this thread.

The Pandora issue is not limited to the beta firmware.  I first saw the problem on a C1 that is running stock firmware and control panel.  Although to your point, the problem also exists in, but is not limited to or caused by, the beta firmware.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Hi Raskull...  Prior to the upgrade, Pandora worked.  Post upgrade it did not.  Putting the old firmware back, it works again.  I looked in the threads and there is no recent (within the last week or so) that I could find where people are complaining that Pandora is not working. Could you point me to a link that describes a current Pandora issue system wide?  Otherwise, I would say let Chumby address whether it is or is not...  Thanks...

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

We'll look into it.  There are apparently some general issues with Pandora going on, even without the beta firmware.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Thank you Duane.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Thanks Duane.  Since the Pandora issue has been confirmed to not be caused by the beta, perhaps we should continue the discussion in this thread and not litter the beta thread.

So is this normal or is this a bug?

I have test new flash lite 4 firmware , using loadmovie function  loading a big  local   swf file is very slow.  I found it only loading 8k bytes one time   ,why ?   how to modify the parameter to make it load more bytes one time?

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Is there a way to call a pre_alarm action now or an action when the snooze is pressed ? I'm also having trouble getting the indexed post alarm actions to fire. post_alarm_action works , but post_alarm_action_1 does not.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Does this firmware work on the Infocast 3.5"?

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

It has not been tested on the Insignia 3.5.

Anyone brave enough to have tried this yet?

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

Update successful.  Successfully enabled root access.  When checking /etc/shadow I found an account with password:  samsung.  Note there is no samsung account in /etc/passwd, but there should be NO other /etc/shadow entries with passwords....

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

That's odd - I'll check into that.

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

It needs to be a true WMA stream  ASX files are most often text files that contain information about the stream - pull it down and look inside to see if the path the actual stream is in there.

The .asx file contains the following:

<asx version = "3.0">
<title>²Ä ¤G ¥x ª½ ¼½</title>
<entry>
    <ref href = "mms://202.177.192.111/radio2"/>
    <title>²Ä ¤G ¥x ª½ ¼½</title>

    <copyright>Radio Television Hong Kong</copyright>
    <author>RTHK ON INTERNET</author>
</entry>
</asx>

WinAMP says that it's running off a WMServer/9.1, but I'm not sure how to check if it's a WMA stream.

Heh, where's that guy who was going on incessantly about WMA support a couple years ago.....

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

I tried the new WMA feature but it's not working for me.

Direct WMA streams:
http://radioeins.de/livewma
http://stream.green.ch/RadioDresden
When I press play for those, "Now playing..." appears very shortly and disappears again without any sound.

For radioeins there is also an mp3 stream alternative:
http://radioeins.de/livemp3
... which works just fine.

Any idea where to look?
Anybody successfully playing a WMA stream? Could you post the URL for verification, please?
Can anybody play the two streams above?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Beta chumby One firmware with Flash Lite 4 released!

The first link redirects twice and eventually lands at an asx file.  In there, the urls allegedly to the stream just point back to the same place - it never seems to get to an actual stream.
