Topic: Alternative power inputs

My Infocast 3.5" power plug is broken. I've tried to re-solder it but it still loses power if you touch the plug.

I was wondering if there were any alternative power inputs I could send the power in. I thought I might hard-wire the power supply to the infocast. I fear the pins around the original power plug are damaged from the re-solder.

Can I supply the power through some of the GND and +5V pins (other than the original power supply pins)?

I see a +5V pin in the picture: http://bunniestudios.com/blog/images/in … 5_back.jpg picture

I assume I cannot just send the power in via the USB port, as it's +5V is likely controlled?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris
