Is it possible to send a picture or text to the Chumby?

I'd like to be able to do either of both of the following:

Have the Chumby display an image on command..
ie:
--When someone calls, a remote server would make the Chumby display a certain image.
--Movement is detected at the front door.. a remote server takes a picture and displays it on the Chumby.

Have the Chumby display a text on command..
ie:
--When someone calls, a remote server would make the Chumby display the phone number.
--Movement is detected at the front door.. a remote server sends a message to the Chumby "Someone's at the front door"

Can either of the above be done?
