Topic: What is this empty square on the chumby board for?

Does anyone know if the empty square in this image  is for a USB connector? If so, is it active, and why isn't the wifi card connected here instead of using the mini 4-pin header and riser card?

Thanks,
Osman

It's another USB port.  You can actually solder a header on there and get another port.

The riser is used for a number of reasons.  For one, it tends to get quite hot, and if you place the wifi card against the board you'll have problems charging a LiIon battery because of the heat.  Another reason is interference, as having it away from the board will give you better signal.

That's exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks! --Osman
