Re: Sony DASH is a chumby in disguise

Sony debuted it, sort of, at CES.

An Engadget article said it runs Chumby OS and Chumby.com apps, as well as other Sony-specific apps. I also see Amazon, Netflix, YouTube etc links on the press shot screen, which Chumby doesn't have. It'll ship in April for $200. A lot of CES blogs were calling it a slate/tablet, but it's sedentary like the Chumby and not meant to be carried around.

So, why did Chumby bother making the Chumby One if they're letting other companies make Chumby-app compatible platforms with more features and the same price? Will the Chumby/Chumby One support all apps and links available on those other platforms?

And how will bug reporting and feature requests work on the other platforms? I think the "community" is a big part of owning a Chumby and I'm not sure that Sony is able (or even willing) to duplicate that.
