The easiest thing to do with the chumby one would be to use a USB audio card that had the sort of connector you want.  It's not officially supported, but it just so happens that if you have a USB audio device attached when it starts up, that will become the primary audio output.

I'm mostly familiar with the chumby one, but I know we've tried four or five USB sound cards here in the office just to see if they work, and haven't had any strange problems.

The biggest problem we've noticed is that the mixer has a different name, so volume control doesn't work.  We're trying to figure out what to do about that.

Their mention of "special drivers" might be a bit suspect, but as long as it shows up as a standard USB audio device it should work.

Unfortunately, you're out of luck with the version number in the current firmware, unless chumby1 runs an updated kernel.  I'll know soon as mine *should* ship today.  (I still wonder if I can pick it up?!? )
