I think it'd be really great to have a Chumby with a short battery time (30mins-1hour) but that charges and runs continually when placed on an induction charging pad (I've noticed a few devices coming out lately with this sort of charging system). I don't suppose anyone has any idea how one might go about making something like this and whether it would be hugely difficult? It'd be a pretty ideal way to use the Chumby...have it on your bedside table, pick it up to look at it and maybe interact with it for a bit, then put it back on its charging pad and have it go right back to charging again...no plugs to worry about...
