Topic: Random ShutDown Problems

Only had my Chumby a few weeks and only have a dozen or so widgets running.

I have had one shutdown when I was looking right at it.  It was scrolling through the widgets, which is the way I usually use it, and it just powered off as if you hit the power button.

A couple of times it shut down while in "Night" mode.

Each time I was able to reboot it manually but I'm concerned I have a faulty device.

Ideas?

Re: Random ShutDown Problems

hppyfngy,
Do you have another 12V1A power supply you could use to test the chumby?  Your WiFi router may use a compatible power supply.

Re: Random ShutDown Problems

I'll check around, I'm sure I have another power supply.

Anybody else have this problem?

Re: Random ShutDown Problems

I do every once in a while. It depends on what power outlets in the house I have my chumby plugged into. Try a power outlet somewhere else in your house.

Re: Random ShutDown Problems

As long as it keeps booting back up it's not really a problem, but I am concerned as I've had it less than 30 days.  It just shut down again last night.

Have you tested with another compatible power supply yet?

Re: Random ShutDown Problems

This really sounds like a bad power supply.
