Topic: request: Customized widget titles in the control panel

Given that people can customize titles to the widgets they add to their channels, can the control panel list these titles?  For example, I use a couple different instances of the  Generic RSS reader in one channel.  When I'm browsing the list of widgets in the control panel, I see the title of them as "Generic RSS Reader" and not the customized title I added; therefore, I have to do extra work to figure out if the widget I want to delete or pin is the one I want.

Yeah I would love to see the custom name of the Widget somewhere. I thought it would be great if it displayed the name before or during (at very top)  the running of the widget. I have set up a bunch of load URL widgets with each having a name of the web cam location it displays so having the name would help me to know what web cam is being shown and when I can get the next one.

I'm confused..

I use the Load Image from URL Widget and have been able to customize the title of the widget.  The screenshot is from my Webcams channel on chumby.com, but the same titles show up when I scroll through my Webcam channel on the physical chumby.

Is this what you're referring to...being able to change those titles from "Load Image from URL" to "Coors Field (CBS4Denver)"?  The configuration allows you to change the title.  I've been successful at using it for the generic RSS Reader too.  You're right, it is a pain in the rear to try to remember what order your widgets are in without the customized titles.

I'm on 2.6.70 and have had no problems so far.

Just change the title and it shows up fine.  The author, of course, will be whoever created the original widget.  For the Load Image one the author will show up as jvcleave.

The original issue was being able to see these customized titles when in the Chumby's control panel.

Are they still not showing up in your control panel?  If they aren't that's odd, because mine have been for a while (I believe even before the 2.6.70 release).
