Topic: Chumby as a home server

I have a Chumby One and I would like to make this a file server that will handle these tasks:

>torrenting
>Remote File Viewing, Retrieving, Editing (usual file shit)
>Remote access like VPN or Log me In, so I can use it to get on my home network
>Webserver

Is this possible without a retarded amount of work?  I am looking at purchasing a Pogo linux box, because I suspect it would be more powerful.

I have 2.5 TBs of external HDs that I need access to.  I wonder if the chumby would give me driver issues for accessing them.

I have coding and hardware skills, but I don't want to have to re-write drivers.

Is this possible?

Re: Chumby as a home server

yes torrenting! smile looking for that, too, tried compiling with scratchbox but failed using scratchbox properly (I guess)

for remote file stuff, you can use pure-ftpd (needs to be compiled) or ssh (ssh is built-in).

for webserver: lighthttpd, see wiki (lighthttpd is already installed)

You should first try if one external HD is recognized at all. Power supply probably should be via seperate power adapter.
