Topic: Nekkid Chumby Pr0n

So I received my [used] Chumby day before yesterday.  It's so cute it was hard to tear it down - I enjoyed it stock for 24hrs. wink

The software isn't the only place there are easter-eggs.  Bunnie - if you're reading this - love you and the console port. [smooch]  And the "secrets" were appreciated too. smile  More on the adapter board...

The device is a heck of a deal.  There are a few top-shelf components there, and it's certainly not built as a high-volume/low-cost consumer device.  IMHO, more attention was paid to layout and matched component selection than to final BOM cost.  Refreshingly rare.  The 3v Ref and GND pins are a nice touch too.  They give me a handy reference voltage for the TTL->232 level shifter.

So I went ahead and stuffed the console and JTAG ports, and put it back together.  Look at that - it's still working! smile

So hey - nice job guys!  Kudos!  I can already tell though that I'm going to need a couple more of these... wink  I've got this ten inch touchscreen here that I was going to toss on an old GX1 I have laying around, but gosh it'd look nice [with a new driver] on the Chumby hardware. smile

Gosh, can't wait.... any news on this Chumbyzilla project?

Seriously, I use my "regular" alarm clock lying in my bed, and I'd love to have 9-10" non-eInk colour screen e-reader/alarm/video player/Web browser instead.
Any hints on whether these are upgradeable:
-- RAM/SSD;
-- CPU;
-- GPU (to handle 1080p HD H.264/flv, at least);
-- WinXP/7?
Thank you
