Topic: yaChumbyClock.

Yes, I'm learning Flash, which means it's time (ha, punny) for yet ANOTHER Chumby clock.

But mine's a bit more unique: it's analog! And it's got a bunch of different clock faces. And it can be digital if you want it to be!

yeah, I know, there's a lot more to add than that, but I thought I should start somewhere. Now if I just knew how to load remote images.. on the fly updating Clockfaces anyone?

(I'd post the FLA but I dunno anywhere that supports .FLA uploads, I'm surprised imageshack let me upload a Shockwave file..)

p.p.s: my next Chumby feat is a game ;)

Are you interested in testing type feedback on your clock?

Re: yaChumbyClock.

Sure. I just posted it because I'm learning flash and it might be something someone can learn from other than just me (as it appears I'm not the only one here just learning Flash).

Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: yaChumbyClock.

well you passed me in flash, lol. Did you follow a tutorial, or anything? If so Id love to know, maybe help you with the artwork side...

Re: yaChumbyClock.

Actually I didn't, I just picked up some ActionScript manual from my public library and skimmed through, throwing down some code as I go. It's a lot like JavaScript so it wasn't too hard to pick up, however Flash's interface has been a pain in the neck to learn, and implementing things that are normally easy to implement in other languages has taken some adjusting.

That and I don't get to work on it every day like I'd like to.

http://www.nophus.com/useru/users/chumb … gClock.jpg is a link to the FLA file (yes, I had to upload it as a JPG due to the site not liking the FLA extension, just rename it and it should open in Flash fine).

cool thanks!
