Topic: charachter not displaying on cumby

I'm trying to display a "degree" character using the decimal value ° ( & # 1 7 6 ; ) in a textfield (that has html set to true), but it's not displaying on my Chumby. It shows fine on Virtual Chumby. I'm intentionally not setting the font, so as to use the native Chumby fonts, but I've tried a couple of other generally-available fonts with no luck.

Can someone point a Flash newbie in the right direction? Do I need to embed a font? Is there a different way to represent the degree character that's better suited?

Re: charachter not displaying on cumby

anyone have a thought about this? is there a better way to display the degree symbol? & d e g ; won't work either...

Re: charachter not displaying on cumby

you most likely have to embed the font

Re: charachter not displaying on cumby

thanks... I had tried embedding the font before sending that 2nd post, but hadn't had any luck.

after your response, I decided to try some other options...

I was trying to apply the embedded font with a textformat, but that seemed to be failing, so I altered my script so that the textfield that's displaying isn't created with actionscript - it's a textfield on the stage. It's working now. Thanks.
