I'm wondering what people are using to view the IGES files, specifically on Mac OS X or Linux(ubuntu or fedora core based system).

Try Blender, it's got support for just about every CAD/3D image format I can imagine, and then a few more on top of that. I'm certain it can deal with IGES.

I use my copy of solidworks 2001, but that probably doesn't help you because it's pay software.

Let me know if you do find some free software that can deal with IGES that you like, and I'll link to it.
