Topic: Chumby One OS images?

Hello -

On my Chumby One I get a fuzzy screen right now, so I thought I would burn a fresh image onto a new micro sd card to see if that helps.

Using linux I know how to "dd" an image onto the micro SD card.  I went looking for images.  This was the only(?) thing I could find that looked like a candidate, but the link is dead :

Is there a place where I can get an "official" chumby one image?

Thank You!

Hi Me -

Ok, I found this topic that points to an OS image :

... 6. Download the C1/Infocast ROM image from http://files.blueocty.com/firmware/info … ng.img.zip ...

So I have one to try.

Re: Chumby One OS images?

Can you post (or send me an email at support@chumby.com) a screenshot of the "fuzzy screen"?

It's good that that other link was dead, since that's for a different device.

Ok.  I am going to make a YouTube and post it later today.  Maybe it's a different form of the power supply problem.  I tested the power supply and the voltage+amperage seem fine to me, but I am *not* an electronics guy, so maybe it's on the way out.

Ok, here is a video of the behavior :

I didn't really describe the fuzzy screen very well.  This video is representative of what happens.  There is also no sound.  After the splash screen it is unresponsive and the screen fades out.

Re: Chumby One OS images?

I think that fade out at 30 seconds is indicative of power issues.  My C1s also did this but started working properly with a new power supply.

Ok, thanks for the feedback.  I will pursue fixing the power supply.

Yeah, that's almost certainly a C1 power supply issue.
